Stephen M. North

Stephen North is an experienced family law attorney with a reputation for zealously advocating for his clients during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Stephen obtained a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles and later attended McGeorge School of Law at University of the Pacific, where he earned his J.D. During law school, he wrote for the McGeorge School of Law international law publication, the Transnational Lawyer, as a staff writer, and he practiced law as a certified law student. After law school, Stephen worked in the Family Support Division of the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanors and child support cases. Stephen gained further valuable experience as Deputy County Counsel in Solano County, during which time he represented Child Protective Services in dependency cases.

In 2003, Stephen opened his own office where he focused primarily on family law matters. In his private practice, Stephen represented clients in a wide variety of family law matters, including: dissolution of marriage, domestic violence restraining order proceedings, child and spousal support litigation, custody and visitation proceedings, property division, and establishment of parentage. He also has experience in conducting mediation sessions and representing clients through the mediation process. Stephen is licensed by the State Bar of California, as well as the Federal Court for the Eastern District of California.

In his time away from the office, Stephen enjoys spending time hiking or swimming, and enthusiastically supports winter sports from the comfort of a warm space in the lodge.
