Celebrity parenting plans may help California parents who divorce

Many California residents enjoy following the lives of their favorite Hollywood stars. Some take their fashion cues from trending celebrities. Others feel like they can relate to various stories regarding the personal lives of their favorite stars, especially regarding divorce and custody issues. Numerous celebrities, such as Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, have developed parenting plans that may inspire others to keep their children's best interests in mind and to try to avoid conflict at all costs.

Kerr and Bloom have a young son whose happiness, they say, is their highest priority. To help him adapt to not having both parents under one roof, the former couple chose to live in homes that are quite near each other. They say it is convenient and helps their son feel totally supported by both parents and surrounded by love. They also say they maintain a close friendship, which in turn helps forge a positive co-parenting relationship.

Faris and Pratt have adopted similar practices when it comes to their co-parenting plan. They too have a son and say his happiness and well-being is what is most important in their lives. They are both willing to cooperate and compromise as necessary to create a joyful, loving environment for his sake, even though they are no longer a couple.

Not all celebrity parenting plans unfold without obstacles arising. For instance, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes faced legal issues over their daughter's education; one parent wanted her to homeschool while the other thought it best to send her to a brick and mortar school. Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee battled it out in court when Drake-Lee requested sole custody after accusing Williams of going against a court order that stated he could not introduce their children to his new romantic partner until the relationship had lasted six months. Any California resident facing similar issues regarding shared parenting plans may find it helpful to seek legal support from an experienced family law attorney.
